Virtual racing for Alzheimer’s research

Have you heard of virtual running?

Virtual running works exactly the same as any other type of running but the difference is that the race can be run at any time that suits you. All you have to do is enter a race and provide evidence that you have done it. That’s it!

One such event is being organised by a member of Sheffield Triathlon Club, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research in memory of his late grandfather, Nasser.

The #DamflaskSpin and #DamflaskDash will take place over the summer, with entrants completing 5 laps of the Damflask reservoir in Sheffield on their bike (#DamflaskSpin), or one laps on foot (#DamflaskDash).

A lap of the reservoir is approximately 5km/3.2 miles, so this is a great event for people of all fitness levels to get involved in. You need to complete your challenge by the end of September. Here’s the correct routes for both races:

#Damflask5

#DamflaskDouble

To enter, make a £10 donation here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/nasser94 and post your time after completing their challenge. The quickest in each challenge will get a place in this year’s Percy Pud 10km and everyone else will be entered into a draw for some races with Sheffield Triathlon Club next summer. All entrants also get a finishers t-shirt to be worn with pride!

Get training – you could be King or Queen of Damflask by the end of September. Good luck!
